Certification

Rimini Fiera has UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 environmental certification. The entire expo centre is managed under the banner of low environmental impact (rewarded with the prestigious international ELCA (European Landscape Contractors Association) "Building with Green" award in Nuremberg. A photovoltaic system covering over 14,000 square metres was inaugurated in  2010. Another covering 400 square metres has existed since 2006. The expo centre´s air conditioning is based on a system that produces cold at night and lowers the temperature during the day. For the heating, there is a plant with a condensing boiler. An agreement has been signed with Novamont SpA and Summertrade for the distribution in all the venue´s eateries of naturally biodegradable compostable catering products in Mater-Bi. The Indoor and outdoor landscaped areas cover 160,000 square metres, with over 1,500 trees and bushes and 30,000 square metres of lawn. All the fountains recycle the water they use. Throughout the expo centre premises and grounds, there are numerous waste collection points for source-segregated collection. The expo centre can be reached by train, thanks to its on-site main-line railway station.
